McCarty Family Reunion 2008

The "second cousins, once removed" had great fun swimming!

News!

We SOLD our house!

We accepted an offer late last week.

Today we "shopped" and fell in love with a house.

OK, I fell in love with it online...

But it was even better in person!

It's 4 blocks from Brian and Paula.

(And one block from Heidi's dream house!)

We can't make an offer until after our current house

passes inspection and the buyers lock in their offer.

We have started the paper work for an offer though!

Thanks to Mom, Dad, Paula, Brian, Heidi, and Gabriel

for the support, advice, and expertise!

I think this was the largest group ever to house shop in Northfield!

The bad part of this means that

our adoption is on hold.

We were looking into adopting a 13 year old girl

and her worker feels we need to wait.

It isn't fair to move her into this turmoil

and we couldn't give her the time we want to and that she deserves.

We pray that things work out and

she will join us in our new home.

4th of July Parade

She's got her spot and a bucket from Nana.

Mariah and her new friend, Jasmine,

soon learn that if you look cute and wave

you get more treats!

Mariah got a bucket full of candy, 7 packages of legos,

and a free pizza. Jasmine got a month of free

karate lessons plus a free uniform!

Mariah was very excited to see someone she knows in the parade!

Mr. (John) Dorn stopped to talk to her!

They take their parades and viewing locations SERIOUSLY in St. Peter!

The night before people go to the route and stake a claim... Blaknkets, chairs, "gazebos"... All waiting for the parade the next day... We even saw a sofa and loveseat waiting for the great celebration!

Memories...

One day, I was thinking a lot about Gramma. (Isabelle Reasner) I remembered her french braiding my hair so TIGHT that I walked around looking surprised for days until I took the braids out. She did her girls hair when they were little and they all SWEAR that theirs were so tight they couldn't close their eyes!

I tried it. I am no where as good as my gramma but I will keep trying...

I love you, Gramma!
